About “The Real Carolina”

This blog is devoted to Carolina football. I mean Carolina as in both the University of North Carolina and the University of South Carolina. You see, growing up I thought there was only one “Carolina.” When I heard “Carolina,” I thought “Tar Heels.” My girlfriend Whitney grew up thinking there was only one “Carolina” too, and when she heard the term she thought “Gamecocks.” When we had our first conversation about this, each of us were totally stunned by the other’s ignorance. This conversation turned out to be just the first of many. Even now she is leaning over my shoulder telling me to correct myself, saying, “Growing up I knew there was only one ‘Carolina’.” Well I’ve almost matured past teasing her for calling her school “Carolina,” and I can now say that I am a passionate fan of both schools sports teams, especially the football variety. So here’s to enjoying Carolina football, no matter what school you think of when you hear that.
